The City of Spokane Valley and the City of Spokane have had similar rates of population growth in recent decades, with both experiencing a moderate steady increase from 2003 – 2025 (Exhibit 1). Both the City of Spokane Valley and Spokane County are predominately White, comprising over 90% of the population for both cities. Around 22% of Spokane Valley's population identifies as a race or ethnicity other than White, compared to 26% in Spokane County (Exhibit 2). The City of Spokane Valley and the Spokane County have similar age compositions with working age (25-59) groups comprising the largest segment (Exhibit 3). Household income in Spokane Valley closely mirrors that of Spokane County. The largest income segment for both geographies is between $50,000 and $99,999 per year (Exhibit 4).

In 2023, exactly half of Spokane Valley's residents over 25 have obtained at least a high school or some college, compared to 45% in the County (Exhibit 7). This figure in the City did not change from 2020, but decreased from 54% in 2012. Note: SC is Spokane County, and COSV is City of Spokane Valley; Census Bureau Data on Age-25+ Educational Attainment was unavailable in 2010.
